HOW IT WORKS
Sponsor A Child
As our principle mission is to ensure that young girls in the village of Mkenda and other rural areas in Tanzania receive quality education, Fanikia Foundation conducted intensive research and found that the best strategy is to enroll these young girls into boarding schools. Per our finding, boarding schools have concentrated educational resources that could increase learning outcomes, improve academic performance and increase the aspirations and goals of these young girls who primarily come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The targeted young girls comes from impoverished environments and lack educational resources. Without access to high quality education, strong academic support and competent teachers their academic success is hindered. We believe boarding school will provide a more structured, supervised and academically focused environment that is not generally available in the home.
The cost for boarding schools vary from $200.00 to $300.00 per year. Therefore, our goal is $300.00 per year ($25.00 per month), which includes: school fees and uniform, bedding, food, books, school activities and school field trips. We are asking for contributions toward this program. Please consider making a one time donation or monthly contributions of $20 or more per month. All donations are tax deductible! The only thing that separates these underprivileged young girls from anyone else is an OPPORTUNITY. Together we can provide an opportunity to one girl at a time. |

END PERIOD POVERTY:
Hello!
Our names are Emma Szanyi and Kanwulia Onianwa and we are juniors at Eastside Catholic. As you may know, girls who cannot afford hygiene products often cannot proceed with their daily activities because of the burden of their periods. This restricts them from getting the education they deserve.
We are partnering with a local non-profit, Fanikia Foundation, to raise money to make hygiene kits for girls in Tanzania and end period poverty.
We are hoping to provide support for a school of 200 girls. Each kit will contain reusable hygiene pads, soap, a washcloth, and a drawstring bag. This kit will provide hygiene support for 3 years!
We would love for your help to fund for the materials needed to sew the pads/bags and make the kits!
